BEAVERS WALKING UP THEIR LODGE!! In late autumn, beavers will devote time to scooping mud and sticks from the bottom of their water habitat and placing it on their lodge. This serves the dual purpose of insulating the lodge for winter, and deepening the area around their lodge so it won’t freeze all the way through to the bottom.
